The Island Packet 380 "Nefertari"
- The Island Packet 380 is widely respected as one of the most capable and comfortable cruising sailboats in her class, and Nefertari, a 2001 model, is a standout example. Cutter-rigged, solidly built, and thoughtfully maintained, she is a true turnkey cruiser that has comfortably voyaged throughout the Chesapeake, up to New England waters, and down through the Caribbean islands. Her current owners are now looking to stay closer to their home port, and she is offered for sale with care.
- Designed with Island Packet’s signature Full Foil keel, Nefertari delivers exceptional stability, forgiving handling, and offshore confidence. This innovative keel design offers moderate draft for access to a wide variety of cruising grounds, while its integral one-piece construction provides superior strength. The refined airfoil shape enhances windward performance, and the modern hull form contributes to both speed and maneuverability. Altogether, it’s a design that inspires confidence underway and adds a welcome level of comfort at sea.
- Her versatile cutter rig is equally well-suited for cruising, featuring a self-tacking staysail with Hoyt boom for ease of handling, along with Quantum sails that provide excellent balance whether sailing short-handed or with a full crew.
- Handling under power is made even easier with the addition of a Vetus bow thruster, offering confident maneuverability in tight marinas and docking situations. A well-designed sugar scoop transom further enhances life aboard, allowing for easy and comfortable access to and from the dinghy.
- Below deck, Nefertari offers a warm and inviting interior, with classic teak and holly soles, generous storage, and the quality craftsmanship Island Packet is known for. Her spacious layout provides comfortable accommodations for both captain and crew, making her equally suited for extended cruising or relaxed liveaboard life.
Accommodations
The 380 Island Packet has a very desired interior layout with 2 private staterooms. She has lovely teak bulkheads and cabinetry along with a teak and holly sole through out, that coupled with her light beige Ultra-leather fabric in the salon adds to her warmth yet bright interior. Ventilation is super as she has 11 Stainless steel opening ports as well as 5 opening overhead hatches.
- Starting forward is the Master Stateroom with centerline queen berth, shelving outboard, storage under, hanging locker, opening ports, overhead hatch and private access to the head on port. She has a large head compartment with Vanity that has storage outboard and under, toilet with mirror above has a solid piece to create a separate shower stall. There is an additional door to the head from the salon.
- Moving aft one enters the Main Salon. Here she has a straight settee to starboard and an L-shaped dinette to port with bulkhead mounted dining table that when stowed opens up the salon tremendously and when down and opened for dining can accommodate a crowd. Aft of the dinette and utilizing the dinette as a seat is the aft facing navigation station. Aft of the Nav Station is the Private Aft Cabin with lockers, small sink and large berth tucked under the cockpit. The aft cabin has an opening port as well as an overhead hatch allowing plenty of light and ventilation. Opposite the Nav station to starboard is the huge U-shaped Sea Galley.
- Centerline companionway gives access to her engine compartment as well as to her aft cockpit. The cockpit is well laid out and has "Cat Bird" seats port and starboard on the aft rails and leads to her Sugar Scoop transom. Plenty of storage is available in the cockpit hatches/lazarettes. All lines are lead aft to the cockpit for ease in single handing. She has nice wide decks and one can gain access to her foredeck with ease.

Inspecting Any Yacht For Sale
When you find a yacht for sale of interest, the standard inspection sequence is: schedule an in-person viewing at the home marina, request additional photos or video of specific systems, schedule a sea trial under load (typically 4-6 hours running plus engine inspection), and commission a pre-purchase marine survey by a credentialed surveyor. Aspire coordinates each step. The full inspection cycle for a yacht for sale typically runs 2-4 weeks before final closing.
