Overview

GOOD VIBRATIONS is a 1997 Ocean Alexander 440 Sundeck and one of the most popular and enduring models in the Ocean Alexander lineup. Produced from 1987 to 1999 and designed by renowned naval architect Ed Monk Jr., the 440 Sundeck combines sleek European styling with serious offshore capability and a practical, well-appointed interior; qualities that continue to make Ocean Alexander yachts highly sought after.

Built on a modified-V hull with a shallow keel and moderate transom deadrise, GOOD VIBRATIONS delivers a comfortable, confident ride. Her two-stateroom, two-head layout, galley-down configuration, and full-beam aft sundeck make her equally well suited to weekend cruising and extended passages, while twin steering stations offer all-season comfort while helming. Both the flybridge and aft deck are fully enclosed with removable canvas covers.

For her current owners, GOOD VIBRATIONS has served as a luxury floating downtown condo; a comfortable home on the water in the heart of the city, ideal for escaping inland summer heat while also delivering on her passage making pedigree.

Each summer brought two-week cruises to the San Juans and Canada, along with countless day trips touring the waterfront homes of Lake Washington and regular appearances in the Lake Union holiday boat parade and fourth of July festivities. When met with challenging weather, GOOD VIBRATIONS handles with the steadiness and confidence as her design and build quality promises. Good Vibrations is reliable and reassuring underway, at anchor, and moored, and will continue to be an excellent platform for adventure in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

She's been meticulously maintained throughout this ownership, with a complete annual service performed by the same trusted mechanic every year in her current ownership. Full-service receipts and mechanic contact information are available to serious buyers upon request.

Interior Accommodations

GOOD VIBRATIONS's two-stateroom, two-head interior is finished throughout with warm teak brightwork and joinery, complemented by teak-and-holly parquet cabin soles; features that Ocean Alexander is renowned for.

The forward guest stateroom offers a comfortable V-berth retreat with generous storage and private ensuite head.

Aft, the full-beam master stateroom is a genuine sanctuary; a centerline island queen berth anchors the space, flanked by well-executed cabinetry, hanging lockers, and a dedicated vanity, all served by an ensuite head with a separate shower stall.

The main salon is a bright, comfortable space, featuring a large L-shaped settee to port for entertaining and socializing, and a starboard helm station that allows for protected, four-season piloting and navigation. Main salon floor panels open to provide outstanding access to the mechanical plant and engine room.

Stepping down and forward to port, a large U-shaped galley is outfitted with an upright refrigerator/freezer, top-loading counter storage, and generous teak-veneered cabinetry. A large double sink and adjacent counter make food prep a joy, while a 3-burner electric range and dual convection/microwave oven round out all the amenities and storage needed for a well-fed adventure or day trip.

Opposite the galley to starboard, a dining table with comfortable seating for four converts easily to an additional berth.

This is the comfortable, well-thought-out interior expected of an Ocean Alexander yacht.

Inspecting Any Yacht For Sale

When you find a yacht for sale of interest, the standard inspection sequence is: schedule an in-person viewing at the home marina, request additional photos or video of specific systems, schedule a sea trial under load (typically 4-6 hours running plus engine inspection), and commission a pre-purchase marine survey by a credentialed surveyor. Aspire coordinates each step. The full inspection cycle for a yacht for sale typically runs 2-4 weeks before final closing.
