Interior Accommodations

Beautifully handcrafted in satin-varnished teak with a teak-and-holly sole and Corian countertops, Gadabout’s interior blends offshore practicality with comfort at anchor. Her two-cabin layout includes a spacious island berth forward, a quarter cabin aft, and convertible settees, sleeping six comfortably. Locking hatches, positive-latching drawers, and louvered cabinet doors secure gear underway, while large salon windows fill the interior with natural light. Opening ports and hatches with teak screens provide excellent ventilation, complemented by dome and reading lights, courtesy lighting in the cabin sole, and Hella Turbo fans throughout. Numerous handholds make movement safe when heeled or in a seaway.

The owner’s stateroom forward is accessed through a locking privacy door and features a centerline queen-size island berth with hinged bin storage and four drawers in the pedestal. A thick foam mattress and padded headboard are complemented by closed shelves outboard, a cedar-lined hanging locker, and deep shelved cabinets. An overhead hatch, four opening ports, reading and dome lights, and a 110V outlet complete the space. The adjoining forward head is finished in bright molded white surfaces for easy care, with teak trim, a removable teak shower grate, a slide-out Corian vanity with stainless sink, mirrored medicine cabinet, shower hose, ample lighting, and 110V outlets.

Aft, the main salon offers a seven-foot U-shaped dinette to port with a drop-leaf table that converts to a double berth, and a straight settee to starboard that serves as a comfortable sea berth underway. The center section of the starboard backrest lowers to form a small table for cards or drinks. Lockers and bookshelves line both sides, and seating is upholstered in Ultrasuede. The U-shaped galley to port is designed for offshore use, with Corian counters, a forward-facing double stainless sink, Force 10 three-burner propane stove with oven and broiler, microwave oven, and both pressure and foot-pump hot and cold water. Refrigeration includes a large top-loading fridge and auxiliary freezer, both Frigoboat-cooled, with ample storage. Braced into the galley, the cook remains secure underway.

Opposite the galley, the navigation station is positioned adjacent to the companionway for clear communication with the helm. The top-opening chart table accommodates full-size charts, with electronics including a Garmin repeater, ICOM SSB and ICOM VHF radios, Victron Cerbo, Spectra watermaker, Fusion radio and the Northern Lights generator remote panel, with the electrical panel located just aft. The aft guest cabin features a comfortable double berth with lift-up storage, lockers, drawers, bookshelves, a hanging locker, and two opening ports into the cockpit for excellent ventilation. Nearby, the aft head is finished in molded white surfaces and is ideally located near the companionway, perfect for shedding foul-weather gear before entering the main cabin, and includes a Corian countertop with stainless sink and mirrored cabinet.

One of Gadabout’s standout features is her exceptional mechanical and systems access. The companionway stairs lift on gas struts to reveal a well-insulated engine compartment, with additional access panels providing reach to all sides of the engine. A dedicated mechanical and workshop space is accessed via the aft head and cockpit lazarette, offering standing headroom when open, a full workbench, tool and spare storage, and the auxiliary freezer below. A sound-enclosed Northern Lights generator is mounted on centerline aft of the main engine, with excellent access to the shaft seal and steering quadrant further aft—serviceability rarely found on yachts of this size.

Inspecting Any Yacht For Sale

When you find a yacht for sale of interest, the standard inspection sequence is: schedule an in-person viewing at the home marina, request additional photos or video of specific systems, schedule a sea trial under load (typically 4-6 hours running plus engine inspection), and commission a pre-purchase marine survey by a credentialed surveyor. Aspire coordinates each step. The full inspection cycle for a yacht for sale typically runs 2-4 weeks before final closing.
