Construction and Exterior

  • Safety features: A watertight bulkhead is located 7 feet from the bow. The keel is laminated to the hull, eliminating the need for keel bolts. An open transom ensures rapid cockpit drainage.
  • Cockpit: The deep, secure, T-shaped aft cockpit provides excellent protection and visibility. It features long seating, a walkthrough transom, and extensive storage, including a dedicated liferaft locker. A hard dodger with safety glass was a popular optional feature.
  • Sailing rig: This Outbound 46 is set up as a solent rig with a large mainsail, designed for fast and easy handling by a shorthanded crew. The aluminum spar is from Charleston Spars, and all control lines lead aft to the cockpit.

Interior Accommodations

  • Layout: The interior is finished in handcrafted teak with a teak-and-holly sole and features a semi-raised salon with large windows for abundant natural light. The three-step companionway allows safe and easy access below deck.
  • Galley: A U-shaped galley provides a safe space for offshore cooking, with a centerline double stainless steel sink, gimbaled three-burner stove, and ample storage.
  • Forward master cabin: Located forward, it includes either a centerline queen with drawers, lockers, and an ensuite head.
  • Aft guest cabin: Located aft on the starboard side, it offers a large double berth, standing headroom, and its own storage.
  • Nav station: A forward-facing nav station provides a functional workspace for charts and electronics, with easy access to the AC/DC breaker panel.
  • Utility workroom: A standout feature of the Outbound 46 is the dedicated aft utility room, accessible via a lift-up cockpit seat. It provides a workbench, tool storage, and space for a generator and watermaker.

Inspecting Any Yacht For Sale

When you find a yacht for sale of interest, the standard inspection sequence is: schedule an in-person viewing at the home marina, request additional photos or video of specific systems, schedule a sea trial under load (typically 4-6 hours running plus engine inspection), and commission a pre-purchase marine survey by a credentialed surveyor. Aspire coordinates each step. The full inspection cycle for a yacht for sale typically runs 2-4 weeks before final closing.
