About Absolute
Absolute was founded in 2002 at Podenzano near Piacenza by Marcello Bè and Sergio Maggi, both formerly of Gobbi, and everything is built in the company's own 15,000 square meter factory there. The range runs from about 47 to 75 feet across three lines: the Navetta long-range boats, the flybridges and the coupés.
Two things distinguish them on the used market. Absolute went to Volvo Penta IPS early and built the hulls around it, so the pod handling and the fuel figures are designed in rather than adapted. And the Navetta line offers genuine long-range volume at a size where most builders offer a flybridge instead, which is why they suit an owner who cruises rather than commutes.
What we know about Absolute
Absolute are a modern Italian yard that punch above their class, and they do it by being clever about volume, light and space rather than by building a bigger boat.
They feel significantly larger inside than their length suggests, and that is architecture rather than marketing: pocket doors instead of swing doors, raised foredeck master suites, and decisions about where the volume goes that most yards of this size do not make.
The whole range is designed around Volvo Penta IPS pods. That buys exceptional close quarters handling on the joystick, which matters every time you come alongside, and it frees up lower deck living space. It also means you are committing to pods. If you would rather have shafts, this is not the yard, and that is worth knowing on the first phone call rather than the third.
On build quality and fit and finish, the reviews put them alongside the established British and European motor yacht builders, which is the comparison that matters at this money.
