Canados Yachts for Sale

Canados was founded in 1946 at Ostia, on the site of an old hydroplane base, as Cantieri Navali di Ostia, and spent its first years building military and harbor craft. The turn came in 1953, when a Gulf royal watching the launch of eight fast interceptors asked whether the same carpenters could build him a yacht. They could, and more than 800 yachts have been delivered since.

The yard was bought in 2016 by Michel Karsenti of Oceanic Yachts, and there are now three ranges: the Canados flybridges, the Gladiator sport cruisers, and the Oceanic long-range boats. It is a proper old Italian yard: eight decades of continuity, a lot of one-off and semi-custom work, and hulls that were built to go fast in a Mediterranean chop. Older Canados on the brokerage market are often superb value; check who has held her and whether the engineering has kept pace with the styling.
