Cape Horn is a Florida panhandle fishing boat company, family owned and trading as Fabbro Marine Group, and it has been building on the north Florida coast since Chris Fabbro started the business at Pensacola in 1987. The current line is narrow and deliberate: the 22 and 24 Offshore, the 31, 32, 34 and 39 Tournament, an XS series from 24 to 39 feet with extra seating and storage, and the 23 Cape Bay. Boats are designed and developed in house, and the company moved into a purpose built 78,000 square foot plant at Milton at the end of 2017.

What sets a Cape Horn apart on the used market is the way it is laid up. The hulls are pressure filled with foam throughout, the company's vice president putting it as every square inch under the floor being solid foam, and the boats are sold as unsinkable. That makes them heavy for their length and dry in a sea, and it also tells a buyer where to look: foam that has taken on water adds weight a hull was never meant to carry, so weigh the boat against its published numbers if you can, sound the deck and stringers, and check the transom and the scupper and rigging tube penetrations where water gets in. The advantage over most older Florida center console names is simply that this one is still open, still owned by the same family, and can still supply parts.
