About Gulf Craft

Majesty is the flagship brand of Gulf Craft, founded in 1982 and building at Umm Al Quwain and Ajman in the United Arab Emirates and in the Maldives, alongside its Nomad, Oryx and SilverCat lines. The Majesty range splits in two: the Yacht Collection from the 60 to the 72, and the Superyacht Collection from the 100 up to the 175. Everything is composite, which is the point of the brand. The Majesty 175 is 56.4 meters and still draws only 2.05 meters because carbon fiber and vinylester weigh less than steel, and it carries 4,000 nautical miles of range at 10 knots. Cristiano Gatto did the design and Massimo Gregori the naval architecture.

On the used market the composite construction is the thing to understand. At this size most yachts are steel and aluminum, so a Majesty gives you shallower draft and no steel corrosion to chase, but it also means the survey is a composite survey: moisture readings, core condition, laminate around high load fittings and any evidence of repair. Get a surveyor who does large composite hulls, not one who mostly does steel. For an American owner the support picture is better than the build location suggests, because Denison Yachting represents Majesty in the United States from Fort Lauderdale, Newport and Newport Beach, and the brand has shown at the Fort Lauderdale show for years. Specification varies boat to boat because these are sold worldwide, so confirm the voltage and frequency of the house system before you assume it plugs into a Florida dock, and get the customs entry to see whether duty has been paid or whether it lands on you at closing.

What we know about Gulf Craft

Majesty is the flagship line of Gulf Craft in the UAE, and the opinion of them is favourable on one theme above all: value. The feature to price ratio is the thing reviewers keep returning to, and it is hard to match.

The reason is construction. Majesty build large superyachts in glass reinforced composite rather than steel or aluminium, so the baseline cost of the hull is a long way under a traditional European yard's. That saving goes into the boat rather than into the margin, which is why the models are known for packing in features that rivals reserve for something much bigger, and for the volume they get out of their gross tonnage.

The phrase people use is rapid quality evolution, and the useful half of that is the implication: the boats have improved generation on generation. On an older Majesty the question is less what year she is than which generation she belongs to, and that is worth establishing before you spend money on a survey.

Aspire sold Rising Dawn, a 2022 at a hundred and forty feet, which is the largest yacht this brokerage has closed. The next longest is a ninety five foot Princess.
