About Nimbus

Nimbus was founded in 1968 at Långedrag outside Gothenburg by Harald Wiklund, then running Volvo Penta, who needed boats worth putting his new six-cylinder diesels into. The Nimbus 26 followed a year later and took boat of the year. The head office is still in the same place, and the group has since taken in Alukin, Bella, Flipper, Aquador and Falcon.

The boats are Scandinavian in a way that shows: 8 to 15 meters, laid out around function and weather protection rather than deck space, with the enclosed and semi-enclosed helms that make sense in the Baltic and work just as well in a Florida squall. They are a minority taste here and consequently good value, and they are built to a standard that survives it.
