Pardo is the powerboat half of Cantiere del Pardo, founded at Forlì in 1973 and known for fifty years as the builder of Grand Soleil sailing yachts. The Pardo brand arrived in 2016 with a 43 footer and grew fast. Today it runs two families: the walkaround day boats, the P38, P38R, P43, P43R and P50, with the inverted bow and the single level deck that made the look, and the Endurance line, the E60 and E72, for owners who want range instead of a beach club. Davide Leone Yacht Design does the naval architecture. The Endurance hull is warped, with deadrise that falls progressively from bow to stern, which is what lets a 72 run 26.7 knots flat out and still cover more than 900 miles at 10 knots.

For an American owner this is one of the better supported Italian imports. Pardo came to the United States at the 2018 Miami Yacht Show and sold 23 boats in two years, Pardo Yachts Miami at Aventura is the factory authorized dealer for Florida and the Caribbean, and Cantiere del Pardo has its own office on 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale covering Pardo, Grand Soleil and VanDutch. That means parts and factory answers are a local call. The question to settle on any used boat is which market it was built for. A boat delivered in Europe will normally be on 230 volt 50 hertz and carry a CE plate, which means shore power adapters, a frequency converter or a rewire before it is comfortable on a Florida dock, and a boat brought in privately rather than through the dealer may still owe duty. Get the entry paperwork. The walkarounds are day boats, so hours are usually low and the wear shows in the upholstery, the T top and the tender gear rather than the running gear.
