Sportsman Yachts for Sale

Sportsman Boats was set up at Summerville, South Carolina in 2011 by Tommy Hancock and Dale Martin, who between them had already built Sea Pro and Key West Boats. Their first hull, the 22 foot Heritage 229 center console, appeared at the Charleston boat show in January 2012 and the range grew quickly. It now runs from about 21 to 40 feet in three families: Open center consoles, Heritage crossovers built around seating and shade as much as fishing, and Masters bay boats.

These are outboard family fishing boats sold through dealers at a keen price, and that is how they trade used. Early depreciation works in the buyer's favor, and because the boats are recent, most still carry usable engine warranty if the hours are low. Pick the one that suits the water you actually fish: a Masters will cross a flat in a foot of water but will not enjoy a rough inlet, while an Open 282 or larger will. Check the rigging, the trailer and the electronics, since those are where a used Sportsman gains or loses several thousand dollars against a sister boat that looks identical.
