Tayana Yachts for Sale

Tayana is the yacht brand of Ta Yang Yacht Building, founded in 1973 at Lin Yuan in Kaohsiung. The yard built to Western designs from the start: Robert Perry drew the 37 and most of what made the name in America, with Robert Harris, Doug Peterson and Bill Dixon behind other models, across a range from 37 to 72 feet. The boats were semi custom, so two hulls of the same model can differ in rig and joinery. Ta Yang closed in September 2020 after 47 years.

Almost the whole output went to North America through US importers, so a Tayana here was built to American expectations, normally wired 120 volt 60 hertz, with duty settled decades ago. What you do not get is a factory: no spares, no molds, no warranty from anybody, so anything model specific has to be found secondhand or made. Survey the Taiwan built points hard, the teak decks and their thousands of fastenings, the chainplates, the tanks and the deck core, because at forty or fifty years old the maintenance record matters more than the badge.
