About Trinity Yachts
John Dane III, an Olympic sailor, was running Halter Marine in New Orleans - a commercial and military yard - when he started Trinity in 1988 to take that capability into large yachts. It worked on a scale nothing else American managed: aluminium and steel superyachts up to well over 200 feet, and at one point more than a quarter of all the superyachts built in the United States.
Trinity was sold in 2013 and again in 2015, to Harvey Gulf International, which moved the yards back to offshore commercial vessels. So the fleet is finite and everything is brokerage. What you get is heavy commercial-standard engineering under a yacht finish, built by people who also built naval hulls, and they are typically far better value than a European boat of the same size and year. Refits have kept the best of them entirely current.
