About Two Oceans
Rod Delany was an oil and gas engineer and a Springbok water-skier who began selling boats from a fuel station in Newlands in 1989. Within two years Two Oceans had premises at Paarden Eiland and was building its own; it now occupies 9,500 square meters of covered floor at Cape Town harbor and turns out custom power and sailing catamarans from 23 feet to well over a hundred.
The yard's real credential is local: Two Oceans brought power catamarans to the Cape, and the Cape Town tuna fleet, which works some of the worst water on earth, is now almost entirely power cats. Boats built for that are built properly. Everything is custom, so the specification is the whole story, and South African composite work is generally excellent and generally underpriced relative to European equivalents.
