About VanDutch
VanDutch launched in 2008 into the worst market in living memory and succeeded anyway, on the strength of one idea: strip a fast open boat back to nothing. No clutter on deck, no visible hardware, a single unbroken sheerline. Frank Mulder drew the hull, which is the part people miss: underneath the styling is a serious hull form that does not slam or throw spray, and it will do better than forty knots.
The 40 sold more than 160 hulls and the 55 took Best Design at the Cannes World Yacht Trophies in 2013. Cantiere del Pardo bought the company in 2020, so the boats are now Italian-built. They are dayboats and superyacht tenders rather than cruisers, the accommodation is minimal by design, and they are bought for the way they look and the way they run. On a used one, check the finish carefully: with a shape this plain, every flaw shows.
