Vanquish Yachts for Sale

Vanquish was founded in 2012 by the Dutch entrepreneur Tom Steentjes, who came out of industrial metalwork rather than yachting and built his first boat, a 32 foot day boat, for his own use. The yard is at Marknesse in the Noordoostpolder, and the range now runs from the VQ40 to the 115 foot VQ115, plus small tenders and the chase boats that superyacht owners buy to run alongside a mothership. Most hulls are welded aluminum, which is what gives a VQ its hard edges and its weight, and the yard also offers composite versions of some models. Frank Spikker became chief executive in February 2025.

Two things matter to an American buyer here. The first is good news: Vanquish runs its own sales office on Las Olas Circle and its own service center on SW 21st Avenue, both in Fort Lauderdale, and the founder himself carries the title of president for the United States. That is an unusual amount of factory presence for a small Dutch yard, and it means parts and warranty work do not have to cross the Atlantic. The second is the usual import checklist. A VQ specified for a European owner will be wired 230 volt 50 hertz and certified to the European CE standard, so on any boat that came over privately rather than through the Florida office, confirm the shore power, confirm the electronics are the North American version, and get written confirmation from the broker that United States duty was paid on entry. Ask for the customs entry paperwork, not a verbal assurance.
