About Zeelander
Sietse Koopmans founded Zeelander in the Netherlands in 2002 with an idea that sounds like styling and is actually engineering: a yacht composed entirely of curved surfaces, so that wherever the sun falls on the hull you see something new. Five years of development went into the first boat, the Z44, before it appeared at Monaco.
Cor D. Rover does the design, and the reference points are deliberate: 1960s powerboats, classic sports cars, and the hard lines of mid-century motor torpedo boats. The Z55 followed in 2015 and the Z72 in 2019. They are dayboats and weekenders rather than long-distance cruisers, built to Dutch standards and finished like furniture. Rare, expensive, and instantly recognizable; a used one is bought by somebody who wanted precisely that and nothing else.

- Not a straight line anywhere on the boat. Sietse Koopmans set out to build a hull made entirely of curved surfaces, so it reads differently from every angle.
