About Aicon
Aicon began as Lino Siclari's furnishing business in Milan in 1993, moved to Giammoro near Messina in 1996 and turned to yacht building in 1999. The Aicon 56 arrived in 2001 and the range grew through the 58, 62 Open, 64, 75, 82 and 85 to the 110 Navetta. The recession ended that: bankruptcy in 2012. Marc-Udo Broich and John Venners bought the company in 2018 and brought in Sergio Cutolo to redraw the range, and Giammoro is building again, currently the A50, V70 and V80.
There are two Aicons on the brokerage market. The 2001 to 2012 boats are well styled Italian production yachts that then spent six years with no factory behind them at all. The company building today bought the name out of the bankruptcy, so it carries no warranty obligation on those hulls, although it does now list a US office at North Miami. Check the electrics first: a boat delivered new to an American dealer is 120 volt 60 hertz, a European one is 230 volt 50 hertz and needs a converter to plug in here. Confirm duty was paid and get form 7501.
