6 Feadship yachts currently listed from 84′ to 140′, $2M to $14M. Aspire Yacht Sales brokers Feadship across South Florida, the Keys and the Bahamas , and we will tell you which ones are worth seeing.
Feadship was formed in 1949, when Henri de Voogt and six Dutch yards put their names together to reach American buyers - post-war Europe had neither the money nor the appetite for yachts, and America had both. The acronym is prosaic: First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders. What followed is not.
Today it is Royal Van Lent and Koninklijke De Vries building at Amsterdam, Kaag, Aalsmeer and Makkum, with De Voogt Naval Architects doing the design and engineering for both. Every boat is a one-off, steel-hulled with an aluminium superstructure, and the yard's reputation rests on engineering nobody sees - the quietness, the fairness of the paint, the fact that things simply work thirty years on. A Feadship holds value in a way that has no real parallel, and a used one is often the most rational way into that quality. They come with paperwork going back to the build, and it is all worth reading.
