ILIAD was set up in 2016 as a partnership between Global Marine of Australia and ITAC Marine of Italy, with the hulls drawn by Riccardo Bulgarelli. The company runs from Forest Glen on the Queensland coast, but every boat is built at a yard at Zhuhai in China that exists only for ILIAD. Construction is vinylester over PVC foam core, propulsion is straight shaft, and the brief throughout is range: the 53F carries 925 gallons and is rated past 2,500 miles. Current models are the 53S, 53F, the OffGrid Hybrid and the 60.

Support here runs through Atlantic Yacht and Ship at Fort Lauderdale, and the Yanmar and Volvo machinery is serviceable anywhere. Two things to watch. The boats are certified to CE Category A, the European offshore standard, which is not a US Coast Guard or NMMA certification. And duty is the real number: Chinese built yachts have carried stacked Section 301 tariffs far above the 1.5 percent base rate, and the figures have moved repeatedly since 2025, so price the landing with a customs broker on anything not already imported and ask for form 7501 on anything that is.
