About Intrepid
Intrepid Powerboats was founded in South Florida in 1983 and entered the market with a 30-foot open boat built on a composite hull with no wood in its core. The company became known for building boats to each owner's specification rather than from a fixed options list. MarineMax, the boat retailer, bought Intrepid in November 2021, and the company now lists its factory in Largo, Florida, with a sales center in Dania Beach.
Intrepid builds center consoles and cabin models, organized into the Valor, Evolution, Nomad and Panacea series, using resin-infused, stepped hulls. Because Intrepid builds to order, two used boats of the same model can differ a great deal in layout, electronics and power. Buyers should compare specifications item by item rather than relying on the model name alone.
