About Riva
Riva was founded in 1842 at Sarnico on Lake Iseo, repairing and building the working and pleasure boats of the lake. The mahogany runabouts of the 1950s and 1960s - the Aquarama above all - made the name, and the yard has been part of the Ferretti Group since 2000, adding the La Spezia superyacht facility in 2001.
The modern range runs from roughly 8 to 90 metres in open, sportfly, flybridge and superyacht forms, all in fiberglass. Riva holds value better than almost anything else in its class, and the reason is styling rather than specification: a twenty-year-old Riva still looks like a Riva. Buy on condition of the paint, the woodwork and the hull sides, because that is where the money is on resale.
